Prone

Chepstow Rifle Club has been shooting .22 R.F. rifles for over 100 years. In the early days (1900s) this discipline was known as 'Miniature Rifle'. By the 1930s the name had changed to 'Small Bore Rifle'. The National Body for this sport is the NSRA.

Prone Rifle is shot at 25 yards at Chepstow's indoor range. In the summer months those clubs with 50 metres and 100 yard ranges hold Open Competitions and there are National and International Competitions, including the Olympic Games.

The Club welcomes beginners and can provide instruction on the safe use of firearms. Equipment can also be provided, including rifles, slings, etc. However, most shooters have their own equipment.
